Abstrakt

Literature concerning urban forests is very extensive and covers practically all the aspects related to forests in urban areas. The article gives historical review, a present concept of urban forests, and the results of the first forest inventories in urban areas. It also describes functions of urban forests and forestry, issues concerning forest policy, and rules of forest management. The article is concluded with the section on economic aspects of urban forests.
