Change direction of the air pollution level and climatic factors in the Białowieża Primeval Forest
The paper presents the estimation of change direction of the air pollution and climatic factors in the whole area of the Białowieża Primeval Forest in 1986-2001. Decrease of the air pollution emission from local sources was the reason of advantageous changes in level and spatial distribution of SO2, NOx and dust dry deposition. The wet deposition of air pollution was rather high, stable and without any tendencies to quick decrease what allowed classifying the Białowieża Primeval Forest to moderate contaminated areas. The estimation of quantity and changes of total sulfur and nitrogen deposition was the base for actual prognosis of threats of the Białowieża forest environment by air pollution till 2010. The role of climate changes especially thermal, humidity and windy factors in the last decade were underlined in the prognosis.
