Chosen aspects of Spruce bark beetle Ips typographus (L.) mass outbreak in the Wigry National Park
Paper presents the results of investigations performed between 1994-96 on some chosen aspects of Ips typographus outbreak in the Wigry National Park. In the 1996 the beetles were caught in the pheromone traps within the area of Wigry Protective Unit. No significant differences of trapping effectiveness were noted between trap types applied (tubular, segment and screen). The higher efficiency of attractiveness was found for „Pheroprax” compare to „Ipsodor”. On the felled trees the Ips typographus larval galleries were also investigated – their localization on the trunk, size and density was determined.
