Abstrakt

The paper presents the investigation results of the influence of pine and spruce stand on the quality of throughfall water in forest ecosystems. The investigations were conducted in the Augustowska Primeval Forest in the open area and under stand canopy in 1998-1999, according to the methodology of environment monitoring.
The investigation showed that pine or spruce occurrence influenced on the deposit of mineral elements coming with the precipitation into forest soils. Deposit of throughfall ions was greater than ion deposit in bulk precipitation, about 20% under pine and 90% under spruce canopy. The relationships between the precipitation quantity, the concentration of studied precipitation and the content of particular elements in the precipitation showed that the increase in deposit under tree canopy is connected with the quantity and quality of dry deposit accumulated in the crowns and the quantity of elements leached from the needles.
