Growth and quality features of full sib families of Populus tremula (L.) and Populus tremuloides (Mchx.) from the experimental plot located in the Grójec forest district
The assessment results of growth of 17 years old full sib families of aspen and eastern poplar are presented in the paper. The assessment criteria included both increment and quality features of trees such as stem straightness, crown width as well as health and survival. It showed that the best growth rates and high quality of stem characterized the full sib families 572 and 576. Trees selected from these full sib families and generatively propagated may give an average yearly volume increment of 20 m3/ha.
