Saproxylic beetles of the Stawy Raszyńskie reserve or on “primeval forest relicts” in an urban forest
Saproxylic beetles of the Stawy Raszyńskie nature reserve and its buffer zone were recorded for 12 years (2006–2018) using various methods. The species composition was evaluated with regard to the occurrence of so-called “primeval forest relict species”. A total of 300 saproxylic beetle species were recorded in the area, including 16 relict species. The introduced species Dinoderus japonicus Lesne (Bostrychidae) was recorded for the first time in Poland. The importance of urban forests with old trees for the occurrence of saproxylic beetles was discussed.
