Formation of rainfall floods in the westERN SudetY Mountains
The hydrometric measurements and observations have been carried out in the Western Sudety Mountains within the three small forest watersheds of the rivers Czerniawka and Płóczka, down to the Droga pod Reglami profile and of the river Ciekonia down to the Jakuszyce profile since 1993. Data obtained from these observations were used to determine the shape of the typical flood hydrograph. The interrelations were also analyzed among the following parameters of the observed single hydrographs: peak discharge Qmax (m3×s-1), total hydrograph volume V (m3), time of persistency T (hr) as well as the rainfall supply P (mm). The modified Strupczewski typical hydrograph method was used to determine the flood hydrograph shape, while the regression and correlation analyses accompanied by the lack-of-fit test were applied to study interrelations between parameters. The obtained regression equations could be used in forests to calibrate the technical devices of small retention.
