European fir (Abies alba Mill.) in Białowieża Primeval Forest
The reserve „Tisovik” in the Białowieża Forest is the natural, relief islet stand of the European fir. It is the farthest fir stand, which is 120 km away from the natural extent of this species, in the north-east direction. The reserves natural station characteristics are described, as well as the European fir growth, evolution and health condition. The premises confirming the natural origin of local European fir population are presented.
