Private sector of forest services in 1999–2003
The paper presents results of forest services sector analysis, carried out on the basis of surveys in 2003 and changes in the sector in 1999-2003. The inquiry method was used. In 2003, there were 1602 answers from many-person and 1313 from one-person forest firms obtained from the whole country or 38,7% of all firms acting for the benefits of forest districts in 2003.
In studied period, mean firm size increased and one-person firms number decreased. The share of long-term services in contracts with forest districts increased.
