Causes of decreased vitality of scots pine (pinus sylvestris l.) seeds from northeast part of poland during the 1997/98 winter
The X-ray photography, germination ability tests and accelerated aging tests were used to examine the 65 samples of seeds collected during the 1997/98 winter. It was found that the decreased vitality of seeds from Northeast part of Poland was caused by the changes of their biological properties. Seeds from this region were characterized by the lower thickness and changed embryo consistency and were less resistant to the accelerated aging test.
