Abstrakt
In climatic conditions of Poland, Scots pine seeds are characterized in general with very high viability, defined as germination capacity and energy (over 91%). Considerable decrease of viability was observed in seeds collected in many Scots pine stands in winter season 2005/2006. It is suggested that the low germinability of these seeds resulted from unfavourable climatic conditions during prolonged cones storage before seeds extraction.
