The method of assessing the degree of damage of oak and beech stands applicable over large area
The concept of the method of assessing the degree of damage of oak and beech stands applicable over large area has been described in the paper. Three following criteria of damage were used: defoliation, vitality and combined tree damage coefficient (e.g. product of defoliation and vitality). The method was tested in oak and beech stands located across the country. The results of the study indicated the number of observation (trees evaluated) per one sample and the sample size (number of stands) to meet assumed accuracy requirements.
