Chemical properties of soils and scots pine needles and microbiological activity of soils on forest areas burnt in 1992 in forest districts of Rudy Raciborskie and Potrzebowice
The pine plantations in forest districts of Rudy Raciborskie and Potrzebowice on areas burnt in 1992 during the forest fire were found to be characterized by the lower content of macronutrients in soil, limited activity of soil microorganisms and poorer tree nutrient status, comparing to control areas (out of the burned areas). Research results indicate, that 10 years after forest fire the restoration of soil microorganisms has not been yet completed, while the method of reforestation, apart from fire intensity, has influence on the rate of soil regeneration.
