Influence of eight-toothed bark beetle on the species composition of plant associations in the Białowieża Primeval Forest
The plant associations were studied within the gaps caused in six types of forests by the bark beetles after 3–4 years after dieback of Norway spruces. In all analyzed types of forests the origin of the beetle induced gap causes more exuberant development of many vegetation cover species and provoke the natural regeneration of forest trees and shrubs.
