Abstrakt
The external characters of the post-reproductive females of the genus Kermes are discussed. The taxonomic characters of the first instar of Kermes quercus and of Kermes roboris are listed. It has been concluded that identifation of these species is satisfactory when based on microscopic characters of slide-mounted first instars.
