Efficiency and cost of harvesting in late thinning of Scots pine stands
Work efficiency and technical cost of 1 m3 wood harvesting with 5 chosen technological processes (with chain saw, one grip harvester, as well as skidder, forwarder and horse) were investigated. Exploitation cost of short wood method with utilisation of chain saw and forwarder was the lowest. This method is efficient also with harvester. The increase of work efficiency and decrease of wood harvesting costs were noted when the distances between operational strip roads was diminishing.
