DNA, RNA and free nucleotides content in the Norway spruce and the Scots pine seeds of different resistance to the accelerated aging test
The analysis of the nucleus DNA, the general RNA and the free nucleotides content have been done in seed samples of 10 selected Norway spruce stands in the Sudety Mountains as well as of 7 chosen Scots pine clones from Taborz. Seeds used in the experiment were selected for their resistance to the accelerated aging test. For both species investigations have revealed that seeds resistant to the aging test contained more DNA and RNA, as well as less, in some cases, free nucleotides than seeds not resistant to this test.
