Abstrakt
The integrated assessment method of size and structure of game (cervidas, wild boar) and protected (wolf, lynx) mammal populations was developed to fulfill requirements of more ecologically oriented game management in the Białowieża Primeval Forest. In the paper the following inventory methods simultaneously applied in the field were presented: sample driving of game, observation of game in the entire Białowieża Forest all year round, winter inventory of trails on selected transects and the counting of the vocally active deer males during the rut. The usefulness and applicability of each of these methods was described.
